UNITED STATES – Both Buddy Hield and Deandre Ayton played in opening games Wednesday night.

Hield dropped 14 points with five assists, a steal, and a block off the bench to help his Indiana Pacers get the win against the Washington Wizards 143-120. He showed why he’s one of the most prolific three-point shooters in the league, going 4/7 from long range.

Meanwhile, Ayton made his season debut with the Portland Trailblazers as they lost to the LA Clippers 123-111.

He scored only four points on 2 of 4 shooting and he only played 23 minutes because of foul trouble. But he still did work inside grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking a shot.

It wasn’t enough to overcome a 27-point barrage from Paul George.

Pan Am Games

A team of Justin Roberts and Sydney Clarke took on a Paraguayan duo of Martin Vergara and Leyla Britez, falling in straight sets 6-4 and 6-2.

The Bahamians had the better first serve percentage with 79 to their 68 but the Paraguayans won on points on second serve 11-6, allowing them to dominate the second set.
