NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Licensed architect with the Ministry of Works Tremaine Thompson tells us the long-awaited Ragged Island multi-purpose center is nearing completion.

But what can we expect to see when it’s done?

Thompson says when the compound serves as a hurricane shelter, it can comfortably hold about 70 people, split between three classrooms.

The architect tells us the buildings themselves cost around $13 million, but the project’s total is almost double that at around $24 million.

As for when we can expect the project to be complete?
