NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Free National Movement Leader Hubert Ingraham clarified recent reports in a local daily which stated he did not support the Free National Movement running a candidate in the upcoming West Grand Bahama and Bimini by-election.

Ingraham told reporters Monday it’s not how the conversation went with party leader Michael Pintard.

Back in September, the Tribune newspaper reported that Ingraham informed Pintard that he should not contest the upcoming by-election.

Ingraham said when Pintard asked his views on the by-election, he provided a bit of history on the FNM’s track record with by-elections.

The former pm says that followed two vacancies in Englerston and Cat Island. Both times he says the FNM sat out.

At the end of it all, Ingraham says he supports the party’s overwhelming decision to run in the upcoming by-election.
