NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For 14 years, Marathon Bahamas has been raising awareness and funds for those in the fight against breast cancer. This morning, hundreds turned out in an amazing sea of pink to run a 5K, full marathon or half marathon.

Chairman of Sunshine Insurance & Marathon Bahamas, Franklyn Wilson says the marathon has made an international impact, sharing the story of Jamaican businessman, Adam Stewart of Sandals Resort. He says Stewart met a Bahamian at the age of 14 and they began courting.

Honorary Chairperson and patron of the race, noted attorney Willie Moss says the race brings the message of awareness to the masses. As a 30 year survivor, she is emphasizing the importance of early detection.

Attorney, lawyer and advocate, Dame Janet Bostwick adding that she has never missed a race. Meantime, U.S. Charge d’Affairs also participating along with her daughter.
