NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are behind bars after police wrapped up investigations into two recent murders.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Raequon Alexis and 21-year-old Eric Simms are responsible for the February 3 murder of 30-year-old Courtney Belton.

According to police, Belton was ambushed by gunmen after he arrived at a home in St Andrews Beach Estates.

Prosecutors say Alexis is also responsible for the murder of Christopher Gibson who was shot outside of a bar on West End Avenue on January 19.

Alexis and Simms didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges when they stood before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and they return to court on May 30 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
