NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Government Secondary Schools Sports Association (GSSSA) Basketball Championship matchups are set with game ones set for February 12 at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.

In jr girls,  the top-seeded H.O. Nash Lions will face the defending champion and second-seeded C.H. Reeves Raptors.

The Raptors won last year’s matchup in three games.

In the jr boys,  the Anatol Rodgers T’wolves defeated the S.C. McPherson Sharks to advance to the championship 

They will face the D.W. Davis Royals who are going for their seventh straight title.

In senior girls, the pennant-winning C.V. Bethel Stingrays will face the C.R. Walker Knights.

The Knights overcame a 13-point deficit Thursday night to eliminate the defending champion Rattlers.

Finally, in the senior boys division, the Anatol Rodgers T’wolves advanced by eliminating the C.C. Sweeting Cobras.

They will face the C.I. Gibson Rattlers who look to complete an undefeated season in the latest addition of this rivalry.

Grand Bahama High School Basketball

While we’re on rivalries, the Grand Bahama Secondary Schools Association (GBSSA)   final will feature the latest chapter in the rivalry between the Tabernacle Falcons and the Sunland Stingers.

Aiden Miller 15 points led Tabby to a  48 –  26 win over at George’s to close out the semifinal series.

Game 1 in the best of 3 championship series will be hosted Monday at the St. George’s Gym.

Hall Of Fame

Add another accolade to the heralded career of Jonquel Jones.

The former WNBA MVP was inducted into the George Washington Revolutionaries Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Some of the biggest names in women’s basketball, along with local basketball icons voiced their support and congratulated her on the honor.
