Residents Split On BPL Privatization Fears
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Issues at Bahamas Power and Light dominating headlines as both The Bahamas Electrical Utility Managerial Union and The Bahamas Electrical Workers Union are calling on the Davis administration to stop an alleged deal.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Issues at Bahamas Power and Light dominating headlines as both The Bahamas Electrical Utility Managerial Union and The Bahamas Electrical Workers Union are calling on the Davis administration to stop an alleged deal.
With both unions are up in arms with the government over the matter, we asked residents if they agree with the move.
The Prime Minister met with both unions over the weekend, reaffirming the government’s support for industrial agreements and other commitments.
Despite this, the unions are not happy about how that meeting went. Residents are split on the union’s concerns
The Free National Movement is accusing the government of privatizing BPL. This after the Ingraham-led government privatized the then BATELCO in 2011.
