Man Charged With Killing Intruder With Illegal Gun

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is facing charges after he allegedly shot and killed an intruder. Prosecutors say Deleiko McPhee murdered Jamal Forbes and attempted to murder Lubins Fenelus on April 28.

The men allegedly broke into McPhee’s apartment at Royal Palm Gardens shortly after midnight.

McPhee allegedly shot at the men with an unlicensed 9mm pistol, killing Forbes.

When police arrived at the scene, they allegedly recovered the illegal gun with three unfired rounds in addition to 714 pounds of marijuana and three marijuana plants.

McPhee faced charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition in relation to the shooting.

He was not required to plead and denied bail.

McPhee, his girlfriend media influencer Sherrelle Duncombe, better known as Roxie Starr, and Jefferson Storr were charged with drug possession with intent to supply and conspiracy to posses drugs with intent to supply concerning the marijuana find.

McPhee alone is accused of cultivation.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

McPhee was denied bail and bail was set at $50,000 each for Duncombe and Storr.

They’re required to wear ankle bracelets and check in weekly at the Carmichael Road Police Station.

The matters have been adjourned to August 20.
