ELEUTHERA , BAHAMAS – Relief is reportedly on the way for residents of Eleuthera who have been enduring water and power shortages for quite some time.

According to the minister of Works and Family Island Affairs, materials and infrastructure are now in place.

The persistent issue of low water pressure, and sometimes no water at all, in parts of central and south Eleuthera has plagued the community for quite some time.

Works and Family Island Affairs Minister Clay Sweeting says the government is now stepping in.

In a recent statement, the government harshly criticized Aqua Design Bahamas Limited, the company contracted to supply water, for its inadequate and unacceptable work on the island and promised to revisit the contract.
