American Man’s Rape and Assault Charges Withdrawn By Acting DPP

An American man accused of rape and indecent assault will no longer be tried as a result of a directive from the DPP.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An American man accused of rape and indecent assault will no longer be tried as a result of a directive from the DPP.
Christopher DeRoo, 45, was arrested and charged after a 45-year-old South African woman, who was visiting him in Eleuthera, accused him of sexual assault.
DeRoo was accused of raping and fondling the woman on May 4.
However, the charges were withdrawn on instructions from Acting DPP Cordell Frazier.
