28th Death Caused By Exploding Takata Air Bag Inflators Reported
WORLDWIDE – U.S. Regulators have linked another death to faulty Takata air bag inflators, marking the 28th death in the U.S. The fatality recently happened recently in Alabama in a 2004 Honda Civic.
WORLDWIDE – U.S. Regulators have linked another death to faulty Takata air bag inflators, marking the 28th death in the U.S. The fatality recently happened recently in Alabama in a 2004 Honda Civic.
Takata’s Inflators, which use ammonium nitrate, can deteriorate over time, causing them to explode with excessive force, sending shrapnel into the vehicle.
Over 400 people in the U.S. have been injured, and at least 36 people worldwide have died.
Honda, which has replaced 95% of the recalled inflators, urges owners to check for recalls and get repairs immediately.
This defect led to the largest auto recall in U.S. history, involving 67 million inflators.
