NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Youth, Sports and Culture Minister Mario Bowleg said there was no resolution just moments after a meeting was held to try to bring both factions of the Valley Boys together.

That meeting, which took place at Baha Mar’s Convention Center, began around 3:15 pm and ended shortly after 6pm.

In recent months, the group has been unable to see eye to eye for months causing a split.

The faction being led by Brian Adderley is the World Famous Valley Boys while the other faction, the Way Forward Valley Boys is being led by Trevor Davis.

Last week, the culture minister said junkanoo seed funding would be withheld for the Valley Boys until Sunday’s meeting.

The night of the announcement, the Way Forward group issued an eviction notice for the Claridge Road Shack.

Bowleg says both sides are passionate and resolute in their stance but he is hoping for a resolution in “short order.” I asked him to tell me exactly what length of time is “short order.”

The minister believes this entire ordeal is bigger than just the Valley Boys.
