GRENADA – Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell says Caribbean leaders don’t attend COP for fun, instead for survival.

Speaking after recent floods hit Grenada, Mitchell revealed he got pictures of his son standing on desks at school due to flooding, all while he was advocating at COP29 in Azerbaijan.

He’s pushing for fair climate financing, slamming the complex process for accessing funds like the loss and damage fund.

Mitchell said he also sees solutions in tech, like greenhouse farming, to boost food security.

He says small island nations must stick together to make their voices heard globally.
