Nassau’s Deandre Ayton Goes For 19 and 11, Suns Roll

Phoenix, AZ, USA. Nassau-born big man Deandre Ayton is trying to reclaim his place in the Phoenix Suns’ pecking order after the team traded for superstar Kevin Durant to be their 1A option back at the deadline.

Since Durant made his debut in the Suns’ lineup on March 3rd, he’s seen his shot attempts and usage rate decline despite playing the same amount of minutes.

Last night, he was comfortable playing alongside the ball-dominant Durant, scoring 19 points, and grabbing 11 boards as the Suns beat the San Antonio Spurs 119-94.

Ayton scored his points making only 6 of 9 shots from the field. He also made all 7 of his free throw attempts.

Devin Booker led the Suns in scoring with 27 points. He also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Chris Paul had 22 points and 3 assists and Durant had 19.

A healthy Kevin Durant makes the Suns as big a threat as anyone to win the Western Conference. But for the Suns to have a chance to win it all, they need Ayton fully involved and engaged on both ends of the floor along with Durant, Booker and Paul.
