FLORIDA – U.S. President Joe Biden and Florida’s Governor Ron Desantis put aside their public differences just long enough to stand shoulder to shoulder as they met with victims of hurricane Ian in Florida Wednesday.

The president and First Lady Jill toured hurricane-ravaged Fort Myers Florida fresh from a trip to Puerto Rico which was Hit by Hurricane Fiona. Biden pledged federal support for Florida for a clean-up and rebuilding that cost American taxpayers billions and will take years.

More than 100 people died in that storm and nearly 400 thousand homes and businesses remain without power across the state.
