NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Canadian man charged in connection with a drug bust at the Lynden Pindling International Airport has been denied bail.

Marvyn Moussa, 34, of Toronto, Canada, faces charges of importation, drug possession with the intent to supply and conspiracy after police say 149.7 pounds of marijuana, worth $298,000, was found in his luggage on December 28.

Moussa pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

McKinney refused bail since Moussa has no ties to the country.

However, Moussa’s lawyer Dion Smith said he planned to seek emergency bail in the Supreme Court.

Moussa’s trial is set for February 6, 2023.
