MIAMI, FLORIDA – The Our News team is in South Florida telling the story of Bahamians making an impact in Miami.

We’re also counting down to the start of the Jazz in The Gardens Festival.

Northwest 27th Avenue is where you will find Conch Heaven, the popular restaurant in Miami, owned by Richie Evans and has been in business for 14 years.

Employee Harriet Taylor says the restaurant caters to several nationalities but is truly a home away from home for Bahamians.

And there are a variety of Bahamian dishes to choose from.

I had a chance to sample the conch fritters, conch salad and sky juice which was delicious

Bahamian Ario Lundy who’s been living in the United States for years says Conch Heaven is one of his favorite restaurants and is important to the city of Miami.

And Conch Heaven is not only in Miami but has two locations in Atlanta.

Taylor says the best part of her job is interacting with customers.

She adds business has been good.
