NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has set a March 2024 trial date for the man accused of the murder of Omar Davis Jr. 

Twenty-one-year-old Normand Toussaint learned his trial date after entering a not guilty plea at his arraignment before Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson

Toussaint’s trial is set for March 4 through 15.He remains on remand at the prison.

Prosecutors say Davis was visiting Toussaint’s home on August 15, 2022, when the friends had an argument.  Toussaint allegedly stabbed the 21-year-old multiple times, killing him.

Davis’ family reported him missing on August 16 after he didn’t return home.

The 21-year-old’s body was found in a garbage bag in the trunk of his black Honda Fit on August 16.

The car was parked on East Avenue near Caribbean Liquors, where Toussaint worked.

Davis had recently graduated from Central State University with a double degree in accounting and finance.

He overcame the odds after witnessing his father’s murder at age 12.
