Eleuthera MP Speaks Out on Water Shortage Concerns

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Central and South Eleuthera MP Clay Sweeting speaking out after a week-long water outage in his constituency, where some Eleuthera residents have been without running water for seven days.

The Central and South Eleuthera MP is calling the issue totally unacceptable and extremely frustrating.

Works and Utilities Minister Alfred Sears speaking to the issue today, explaining there has been a temporary fix.

Sweeting telling Our News, some people tried pinning him against the works minister but he says his statement does not do that.

In the statement, Sweeting said, “The management team at Aqua Design must act with great urgency in addressing the longstanding issue, which the residents of Eleuthera have faced for far too long.”

He continued, “There is no jurisdiction that any company can give that it is acceptable for residents not to have access to water for approximately seven days.” Sears said shortfalls at the water plant have been identified.
