NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Democratic National Alliance leader, Arinthia Komolafe is making her return to frontline politics by going from green to red.

This is the first time she has resurfaced publicly since stepping down as DNA leader back in 2021.

When she spoke with Our News Executive Producer and On The Record host, Jerome Sawyer, Komolafe says she needed to step back and take a break.

Komolfe’s political career dates back to 2012, where she was elected as Chairperson of the New Providence Women’s Branch for the Progressive Liberal Party.

However after leaving the PLP, she became Deputy Leader of the DNA in 2017, and gained seven percent of the vote while running for the Killarney seat.

She would later become the leader of the DNA in 2019 until her resignation in 2021.

Komolfe says shortly after her resignation, Free National Movement leader, Michael Pintard extended the Olive Branch.

She expresses that her decision to join the FNM did not come without a lot of thought.

As we head into another general election, Komolfe says “I’m hoping to get the Carmichael constituency, the constituency I ran in 2021…the constituency that I grew up in.”
