UNITED STATES – It’s blue skies ahead for Jetblue and United Airlines, as the two carriers just got the green light from the U.S. Department of Transportation to move forward with their “Blue Sky” partnership.

Officials say the major collaboration will mean more flights, more booking options, and shared loyalty perks for travelers.

Starting this fall, you’ll be able to earn and redeem miles across both airlines, book United flights on Jetblue’s site and vice versa, and see new routes open up at JFK and Newark.

The full rollout is expected in phases, and both airlines say more details are coming soon.
