NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “It’s a great phrase that actually sums up a lot of my life and a lot of the work that it took to be delayed and not be denied,” 2024 WNBA Finals MVP Jonquel Jones told reporters on Monday.

Her comments came just moments after she laid her eyes on the 30-foot mural, with the words, “Delayed Not Denied” on the Sherwin Williams building on Tonique Williams-Darling and Sir Milo Butler Highways.

Her stop there was all part of the celebrations to honor her team’s victory in this year’s WNBA Finals.

Celebrity artist Jamaal Rolle was on hand when JJ set her eyes on the mural for the first time in person – which he said took him roughly a week to do.

Now before visiting the mural, JJ also had an official courtesy call with Prime Minister Philip Davis.

The center for the New York Liberty also made a courtesy call on Governor General Dame Cynthia Pratt.

Celebrations continued into the afternoon at the Kendal Issacs Gymnasium.
