NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A jury unanimously convicted a man of a murder that took place 12 years ago.

Daniel Delroy Rolle was convicted of the January 15, 2012 murder of Dennis Tynes, who was also known as Bush.

At around 2pm on the day in question, Tynes was at his mechanic on Lincoln Boulevard when he was accosted by a gunman wearing a hooded jacket.

The gunman shot Tynes in the head, back and left shoulder.

Prosecutors relied on Tynes’ confession. However, his lawyer, Calvin Seymour, said the confession was obtained under duress.

Seymour said that Rolle “was too dark” to be the gunman, as witnesses described the shooter as “light-skinned and fair.”

In the end, the jury accepted the confession and convicted Rolle.

Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns will begin a sentencing hearing on February 19.
