Man Arraigned for Olympian’s Death

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 28-year-old man faced a Grand Bahama Magistrate for the murder of Olympian Shavez Hart.

Cooper’s Town, Abaco resident Dillion Jordan appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debby Ferguson.

Hart, who was 29, died after he was fatally shot in the parking lot of an Abaco bar on September 3rd.

Jordan was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections until January 25, 2023.

Police said initial reports revealed that a group of men were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot of the nightclub. 

One of the men left and returned with a firearm. He discharged that weapon, shooting Hart in the chest.

Upon arrival of EMS, they found no signs of life. 

Hart was later pronounced dead at the Marsh Harbour Clinic.
