NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A local pastor insisting he would reject any law that weaponizes marital rape.

Senior Pastor at Grace Community Church Lyall Bethel and other senior executives of his church held a press conference Sunday.

Bethel insists the Sexual Offences Act already addressed sexual assault in a marriage. The Davis administration has drafted a law that would criminalize marital rape.

The proposed amendment would remove the words “Who is not a spouse” from the relevant provision.
