NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A couple accused of criminal responsibility in the death of their two-year-old son has been granted $7,000 bail.

Police arrested Douglas Nixon and Jenny Nixon on November 14 after their two-year-old son Daniel Nixon was found bitten to death by dogs near their home on Brice Street in Fox Hill.

They denied a charge of cruelty to children at their arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

She remanded them to custody, pending today’s bail hearing.

The Nixons will have to sign in at the Fox Hill Police Station on Fridays and wear ankle bracelets as a condition of their bail.

They next return to court on February 7, 2024 for trial.
