ANDROS , BAHAMAS – Free National Movement leader Michael Pintard took shots at the Progressive Liberal Party last night.

The party leader taking the stage at a South Andros rally, questioning financial disclosures made by PLP candidates and overspending at the Beaches and Parks Authority.

The Free National Movement took their Fire Forward campaign to Mangrove Cay, Central and South Andros last night, where speakers made their case for South Androsians to choose the Free National Movement’s candidate, Julian Gibson, as their next Member of Parliament.

FNM leader Michael Pintard also addressed the crowd.

He wasn’t shy in his attacks last night, first targeting Progressive Liberal Party Deputy Leader Chester Cooper’s net worth.

Cooper, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, is listed as the third wealthiest with a net worth of 28 million dollars, according to disclosures filed on Nomination Day.

“Well I know one thing for sure, he is serious about private business on public time, private business on public time, and since he’s doing so well in his finances, maybe he needed to be the Minister of Finance, because if he could go double his wealth in four and a half years, surely, surely they need to fire Philip and maybe give consideration to him.”

The FNM leader also took aim at the Golden Yolk Program.

The goal of the multi-million-dollar investment, launched in 2023, is to achieve 100 percent local egg production, with a target of producing over 27 million eggs annually, and despite a few setbacks, the government is promising eggs will be on the shelves in a few weeks.

“So 15 to 24 million plus 40 million is somewhere between 50 and 60 million they have spent on this program, and we want to know where the eggs, we want to know where that money has gone.”

Of course, there’s the overspending at the Bahamas Public Beaches and Parks Authority that’s dominated headlines, where budget figures reveal increased spending under the PLP government to the tune of more than 141 million dollars up to December 2025.

“This new fella come in there like he doing something. In fact, every time you see him, he is enraged that he didn’t make it to Cabinet. At least they said he spent 141 million dollars. The question is, why are the parks not clean? How is it that you have, in some cases, two separate contractors cleaning the same space and getting paid?”
