GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMAS While Grand Bahama has long been known as “FNM country,” PLP supporters took over on Thursday night.

The atmosphere was filled with energy and entertainment as Grand Bahama candidates made their final plea to voters.

Prime Minister and PLP Leader Philip Davis, hit back at former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham’s criticism of PLP Fort Charlotte candidate Sebas Bastian.

Ingraham suggested that Bastian is next in line to be prime minister, but Davis told supporters this :

Philip Davis – Leader, PLP

“Just to avoid any confusion, may I remind him and all that there’s only one prime minister on this ballot, and that’s Philip Edward Brave Davis. No other one is running for prime minister.”

That wasn’t all.

Ingraham told FNM supporters he voted for FNM Killarney candidate Michela Barnett-Ellis, but the prime minister saw it differently.

Philip Davis – Leader, PLP

“My old friend, my lifelong friend, former Prime Minister Ingraham, is still in the background. He’s trying to knock some heads together to try to get them on track, but I’m grateful to him. Having heard him last night, listened to his speech, I am grateful to him for his endorsement of being on the rally stage last night.”)

PLP supporters have not been shy about criticizing Ingraham’s public presence on the FNM campaign trail days before voters head to the polls.

While others question why Ingraham is so active, the prime minister said he gets it.

Philip Davis – Prime Minister

“My brother Ingraham, I understand why you feel you can’t vote for me. I understand why you feel that you can’t vote for me, but I’m glad you understand why others will.”

“I understand the difficulty that FNM supporters have. They want progress, but they have a leadership team that can’t deliver it.”
