NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Residents are now being urged to hold food retailers and the wholesale industry accountable when it comes to the price of products and services in light of recent tax cuts.

During the weekly press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister this week, Press Secretary Clint Watson encouraging residents to put pressure on local businesses.

Just this week, Retailers Grocers Association President Philip Beneby, telling the Tribune newspaper, that operators in the space can’t be blamed, claiming the industry was an easy target and scapegoat after Watson suggested not all stores passed the anticipated savings on to customers.

Watson however doubled down saying it’s a big story that’s being missed.
