NASSAU, BAHAMAS – We’ve become accustomed to Bahamian athletes taking the flag to the international stage and making history – this time, one is doing it in darts.

Rashad Sweeting will become the first Bahamian to ever compete in the sport’s flagship event, the 2024-25 paddy power World Darts Championship.

Sweeting qualified by winning two of the four events on the championship darts Latin America and Caribbean order of merit series.

Over the weekend, Sweeting officially confirmed in the world champs after a semifinal finish at the latest CDLC event in Santiago, Chile.

He topped the CDLC standings with 56 points, 16 points ahead of his nearest competitor.

Sweeting’s first tour victory came in jamaica last July. He went on to win event three, 6-1 in the final over Sudesh, Fitzgeraled.

In Sunday’s final event, Sweeting again advanced the final, but lost 6-5 to Guillermo Soto.

The paddy power World Darts Championship will be hosted in Alexandra Place, London, December 15 2024 to January 3, 2025.

MLB

Every divisional series is tied at one game a piece, setting the stage one of those legendary MLB postseason finishes.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit the first postseason home run of his MLB career but his New York Yankees showed few signs of life at the plate in a 4-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals Monday night in game two of the American League Divisional Series.

Chisholm led off the ninth with a solo shot to right field that traveled 375 feet with an exit velocity of 106.8 miles per hour.

After his home run, and a single from Jon Berti, they had the tying run at the plate but were unable to capitalize.

Chisholm and the Yankees remain confident headed on the road despite the game two loss.

Tennis pro Justin Roberts hoisted a championship trophy in Florida.
