Shantytown Residents: Where Are We Supposed To Go?
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Time is up for residents of the Kool Acres Shanty Town. An eviction notice given to those living in that community expires today.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Time is up for residents of the Kool Acres Shanty Town. An eviction notice given to those living in that community expires today.
Earlier this month, The Ministry of Works gave residents of the shantytown a 28-day period to remove all illegal structures by the 30th of this month.
A spokesperson for the shantytown says they are afraid.
Other residents we spoke to anonymously say they are disappointed in the government as many of them claimed they were promised on the campaign trail that nothing would happen to them.
