Two Arraigned for February Kemp Road Murder

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men face charges of murder and attempted murder in relation to a double shooting last month. 

Prosecutors say 23-year-old Jean Cela and 21-year-old Yvon Carter are responsible for the February 4th murder of 18-year-old Harrinique McPhee.

The men are also accused of trying to kill Owen Anderson in the same incident.

According to police, the shooting victims were near a bar on Coleman Lane, off Kemp Road, when three gunmen emerged from bushes and opened fire. 

McPhee was fatally wounded and Anderson was seriously injured as a result.

Cela and Carter were not required to enter pleas to the charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.Bail was denied and they return to court on June 28th to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
