UNITED STATES – U.S. President Donald Trump’s push to end birthright citizenship is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

At the heart of the case is whether federal judges have the power to block presidential orders nationwide.

Back in January, Trump signed an order saying children born in the U.S. to undocumented immigrants would no longer be citizens, but three judges quickly blocked it.

Now the supreme court is hearing arguments, but if it sides with trump, it could clear the way for him to use executive orders more freely.

Legal experts say ending birthright citizenship would likely violate the 14th amendment.
