NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Consumer Protection Commission is advising the public to exercise caution after getting complaints about online orders not being delivered by courier companies.

CPC Executive Chairman Randy Rolle revealed that over $10,000 worth of goods have been reported as undelivered.

A troubling trend appears to be targeting consumers who rely on some Bahamian-owned courier companies. According to the consumer protection commission over 20 complaints have been filed since the start of the holiday season.

Consumers claim after ordering electronic items online and shipping them to the U.S. address of a courier company, the packages despite being marked as delivered go missing in transit to The Bahamas. Many allege there’s no accountability or compensation.

Rolle revealed that just today, the CPC received four new reports of the same claims. He emphasized that while investigations are ongoing, this type of issue will not be tolerated.
The executive chairman expressed disappointment over these claims, especially during the Christmas season.

Rolle also tells consumers to stay informed and research the companies they choose to do business with.
