NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “We certainly are a safe place to invest,” according to Attorney General Ryan Pinder K.C.

His comments come on the heels of a shocking U.S. Indictment implicating corruption in local law enforcement agencies. 

While speaking at a Bahamas Financial Services Board industry briefing on money laundering, the attorney general insists The Bahamas reMains a safe and attractive destination for investment.

The attorney general says a comprehensive strategy to keep The Bahamas in line with international anti-money laundering standards is in the works. 

He adds the recently completed national risk assessment highlights areas of progress and reveals where improvement is needed.

The consultation brought together over 300 stakeholders from both financial and non-financial sectors.

The goal: to prepare industries for upcoming obligations and ensure cross-border financial operations remain seamless.

Pinder warns that falling short of compliance coUld spell disaster for the nation.
