ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – Funding could be on the way to assist The Bahamas with climate change mitigation and agricultural projects.

A tour of The Island School and One Eleuthera were just two stops during a visit to Eleuthera, which saw guests including Cindy McCain, United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations agencies in Rome.

The reason for her trip? To get a firsthand view of the impact of climate change on The Bahamas.

Following the visit, McCain says the plan is to help The Bahamas to secure funding.

As The Bahamas is one of the countries most impacted by  climate change, Agriculture Minister Clay Sweeting stressed the importance of finding ways to be climate smart.
