NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Baha Mar’s Convention Center was packed to capacity on Saturday morning as tennis icon Venus Williams spoke to a room of more than two thousand locals and guests about her triumphs and failures on and off the court, with a blend of charm and humor.

The event was hosted by CG Atlantic and Zest Wellness at no cost to attendees, and it was moderated by Our Tv’s very own Jerome Sawyer.

Jerome Sawyer – Moderator of Strive Forward

“So first of all it’s Venus and I think her name alone really sets the tone as you said she’s an icon the fact that she’s written a book and is involved in so many philanthropic and business business ventures that was interesting to me as I was preparing for the interview I learned a lot about her.”

There were scores of attendees on the edge of their seats, that were drawn in by the discussion and at the end of the event, some of them were asked what was one thing Venus said that stood out to them?

Their unanimous response was a phrase we’ve all heard, but coming from a seven-time grand slam title holder, it rejuvenated guests to pursue their goals.

Addison Bethel – Attendee at Strive Forward

“She said faith without works is dead as an athlete myself you know you must put in a lot of practice and you have to have faith in yourself to reach your goals.”

Bailee Miller – Attendee at Strive Forward

“Putting the work behind your faith in everything a lot of times we are scared to go that extra level go that extra mile that’s what caused us to hold ourselves back.”

Gregorio Inguaggiato – Attendee at Strive Forward

“It was really amazing she’s an inspiration to all of us i think she’s someone we’ve admired through the years and seeing her just like a few feet away from us it’s just amazing.”

Larikah Russell – Professional Tennis Player

“It was definitely a wonderful experience to see actually a top player in the world I related to everything she said especially talking about hard work and the hours you got to spend and actually betting on yourself.”

Annastasia Francis – Executive Vice President & General Manager of CG Atlantic

“I think what resonated with me most was in terms of being a good person at the core of it just sharing with that and reflecting that light in the world.”

Those who attended say they got not only inspiration, but also a push to follow their dreams and accomplish their goals.
