NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas has the potential to become a regional example for metrology, according to Executive Director of the Organization for Responsible Governance, Matthew Aubry.

He says the presence of representatives from the European Union is a good sign.

His comments came outside of the 2023 Bahamas National Quality Policy Re-engagement Forum, held under the theme “Strengthening the national quality infrastructure” through enhanced standards and metrology services.

Metrology is the science of measurement.

It’s what makes sure the gallon you pay for at the pump is truly a gallon, that the ingredients, their amounts, and nutritional value on your food labels are accurate, and that the concrete you use to build your buildings is up to standard.
