117 Foreign Nationals Apprehended In Enforcement Operations

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A recent operation by the enforcement unit resulted in the apprehension of 117 foreign nationals from Haiti, Jamaica, Turkey, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zambia.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A recent operation by the Enforcement Unit resulted in the apprehension of 108 Haitian nationals, two Jamaican nationals, two Turkish nationals, and one individual each from Canada, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zambia.

The operation targeted various immigration-related offenses, including illegal landing, overstaying, engaging in gainful occupation without authorization, attempting to mislead an immigration officer, and the unlawful use of forged documents.

Immigration officers attached to the task force conducted apprehensions in the Abaco Cays, and during the operation, a total of $23,600 in immigration revenue was collected.

All individuals were transported to the Carmichael Road Detention Centre for further processing and investigation. They have since appeared in the Magistrate’s Court.
