NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of threatening to kill a prison guard has been granted $3,000 bail pending his trial.

Prosecutors allege that Kingsley Choute, 38, threatened to kill Liguel Burns on March 24 upon his release from custody on an armed robbery charge.

He allegedly made the threat while at the Remand Court at the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

Choute denied the death threat charge at his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

Choute returns to court for September 25 for the start of his trial.
