It was a moment of pride and achievement at CC Sweeting Senior High School as top-performing students were honored for their hard work and dedication. The honor roll assembly, themed ‘Still We Strive: Keeping Excellence Alive,’ highlighted the resilience of students striving for academic greatness.

The school recognized 87 honor students, including 14 on the principal’s list and 73 rising stars with GPAs between 2.7 and 2.99.

Riccardo Patterson – principal, C.C. Sweeting Senior High School
“The principal’s list has jumped now almost 50%, which means that we have almost double the amount of persons on the principal’s list. Our rising star list has also gone up. So basically, we are doing great things at C.C. Sweeting School and we are improving.”

Cobra pride was strong on the campus as students said this recognition fuels their drive to keep striving for excellence.

“I like to say stay out of trouble. Be yourself. And just lead the way.”

Everyone in attendance was inspired by the uplifting words of Reverend Dr. Tyrone Perpall, who encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.

Dr. Tyrone Perpall – keynote speaker
“Don’t let nobody dictate to you and tell you no, you can’t do that because that will never work. No, you gotta try it. And guess what? If you try, and at first you don’t succeed, you know what else to do? Try again. And keep trying. And keep trying.”
