NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Guatemala scored first with a goal by Miguel Gonzalez three minutes into the first period, adding one more before the end of the first.

Team captain Wood Julemiz put the Junkanoo Boyz on the board, scoring on a penalty one minute into the second, and Brandon Adderley (no relation) tied the game up with a spectacular kickflip in the final minute of the same period.

Pablo Crocker scored the go-ahead goal 5 minutes left on a goal where the ball hit the post and barely got in. This was enough to seal the heartbreaking loss for Team 242.
Head coach Francis Faberoff lamented the team’s missed opportunities.

Despite the loss, team captain Lesly St. Fleur lauded his team’s heart.

Last Chance Meet ends with qualifying cuts for Carifta swimmers
The final session of the Last Chance Meet came to a close Saturday evening at the Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatics Center, with a number of swimmers making Carifta qualifying cuts.
We spoke to two swimmers who hope to make the 2025 Carifta team.

Ayrton Moncur – Swimmer, Mako Aquatics
“That would be a dream come true if I make the team. I’m just focused on doing my best and hopefully things go well.”

Zoe Williamson – Swimmer, Mako Aquatics
“If I make it, it will be amazing. I’ve been training hard and I’m looking forward to the opportunity.”

We also spoke to several coaches about how their swimmers were performing.

“Very pleased with how they swam. They’ve shown great progress and I’m confident they’ll make the team.”

Dellan Brown – Head coach, Blue Waves Swim Club
“We got some really good swims in today. Pretty happy with the results.”

Algernon Cargill – President, Bahamas Aquatics Federation
“A swimmer to be considered for the Carifta team must meet the qualifying standards and we’re looking at performances to make the selections.”
