Armored Truck Guard Ordered to Pay Woman $2,500 or Face Jail Time

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 30-year-old armored truck guard who fired a shotgun at a woman after she didn’t move her car has to pay $2,500 to avoid jail time.

ICS Security guard Jaran Darville was doing a money pickup at Kentucky Fried Chicken on Carmichael Road on December 27, 2024 when he saw a heavily tinted car in the parking lot.

While wielding his shotgun, he ordered the female driver to move.

When the woman didn’t immediately obey his command, Darville fired a warning shot in the air.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with threats of harm and possession of a firearm with intent to put another in fear

Darville pleaded guilty to the charges before his trial began before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

He was ordered to pay the woman $500 on compensation to avoid a two-month prison sentence.

He also has to pay a court fine of $2,000 to escape a six-month sentence.
