Brown: Golden Isles Wants Somebody Who Lives Here, Not On Paradise Island

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Brian Brown says he is the man with the plan because he has lived in the Golden Isles community for years, adding that no one is better suited to fight for residents than someone who is part of the community itself.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Free National Movement candidate for the Golden Isles by-election, Brian Brown, received a strong show of support just after dawn today as he and dozens of party supporters gathered under a tent decorated in the FNM’s signature red and blue.

Fellow FNM candidates were also on hand outside Remnant Tabernacle, offering endorsements and rallying energy as voters arrived for the advanced poll.

Dr. Jacqueline Penn-Knowles, the FNM’s Marathon candidate, said Brown has proven his commitment to the community.

“Brian has not just been here; he has shown up and shown out. When called, he is always ready to respond.”

South Beach candidate Darren Henfield echoed the sentiment.

“I walk with him and I am filled with pride when I hear constituents say that they know Brian Brown.”

Golden Gates candidate Michael Foulkes added that Brown’s dedication is felt by residents.

“He has a heart for the people in Golden Isles. He believes in them and they believe in him.”

Carmichael candidate Arinthia Komolafe noted that Brown never abandoned the constituency, even after his 2021 loss.

“Brian continued to keep his headquarters open. He never left and he never will.”

Brown was ratified as the party’s general election candidate for Golden Isles earlier this year, but following the sudden passing of MP Vaughn Miller on September 28, he now finds himself on the ballot for the by-election on November 24.

Speaking with reporters, Brown stressed that voters want someone who lives among them and understands their day-to-day concerns.

“I work here, I live here. The people want somebody who lives among them. Not on Paradise Island. When they call, they want someone who can come next door.”

Voters will choose from four candidates on November 24: PLP candidate Darron Pickstock, COI candidate Brian Rolle, independent candidate Karen Butler, and Brown.

Brown told reporters he is confident about the outcome.

“We are going to beat them. We are going to beat them.”
