R.E.A.C.H. Summer Camp

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Some 42 students on the autism spectrum learning some important life skills in a free summer camp by the R.E.A.C.H. organization.

R.E.A.C.H. Chairman Dwayne Gibson telling our Megan Shepherd in our final story tonight that the 4-week camp will also provide the students with the therapy they need.

He explains why this type of camp is so important.

Coordinator, Telietha Strachan says their main focus at camp is to instill independent living skills.

Strachan notes that roughly, only around 40% of students are verbal. She says the activities at camp helps students develop skills we often take for granted.
