Rosewood Resort: Dredging a Major Concern For Exuma Residents
EXUMA, BAHAMAS – Ground was broken last September for the $200M Rosewood Exuma Resort which is scheduled to open in 2028, but residents and business owners are still not convinced that it’s what’s best for the Exuma Cays.
EXUMA, BAHAMAS – Residents packed a classroom at L.N. Coakley High School on Friday for a town hall meeting on the $200 million Rosewood Exuma Resort Project set for East Sampson Cay in the Exumas.
Ground was broken last September for the resort which is scheduled to open in 2028, but residents and business owners are still not convinced this is what’s best for the Exuma Cays.
The resort is set to have 33 bungalows, 40 residences and a range of amenities, but noted environmentalist, Eric Carey, described it as monstrous, destructive and unprecedented.
The resort’s principle, Delipe MacLean, also responded to those comments and questions.
MacLean compares the acres of dredging for Rosewood Exuma to other developments currently underway.
