CUBA- Tensions are building in Cuba this Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump made controversial remarks about the island, saying he could “take” Cuba and hinting at possible action soon.

The U.S. has already increased pressure, including an oil blockade that’s worsening Cuba’s ongoing power crisis.

In Havana, some residents fear the situation could escalate into conflict, while others are calling for calm and dialogue instead.

Several people say they simply want peace and for outside interference to stop, urging their own government to focus more on everyday struggles at home.

There are also reports that removing Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel is a key U.S. objective, though that has not been confirmed officially.
