NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Freeport man who is serving a 50-year sentence for the murder of a businessman during an armed robbery, has lost his bid to appeal his conviction to the Privy Council.

Natario Walkins had sought leave to challenge his conviction to the country’s final appellate court after the appeal court here affirmed his convictions.

The court found that no miscarriage of justice had occurred in the case.

Walkins was convicted in 2014 of the murder of Christopher Outten in Grand Bahama.

On January 19, 2023, Outten and his wife, Anna, who’re the owners of the U.S. Gold Store, were accosted outside of their home by a gunman shortly after they arrived there in their truck.

Mr. Outten was shot to death in the driver’s seat, and his wife ran to the neighbour’s home, leaving her Gucci bag in the vehicle.

A gold necklace and charm were stolen from his trousers’ pocket, along with the Gucci bag.
