NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prices at the pumps are going down after months of rising fuel costs across the country. Residents in New Providence are seeing a slight decrease in prices and officials say they expect prices will continue to drop.

Gas prices on New Providence are continuing to decline. This week, Rubis has the lowest price at $6.30 per gallon, Shell the highest at $6.97 while Esso stands at $6.66 per gallon. Back in June, gas prices were as high as $7.39.

Vice President of The Bahamas Petroleum Retailers Association, Vasco Bastian says prices have been seeing a steady decline. And, he believes prices will continue to decrease. Bastian insists customers are pleased with the drop in prices at the pumps.

However, this Bahamian visiting from Texas is singing a different tune. And, customers say they’re hoping to see lower prices.
