Ten Senior Members Sworn in Including First Woman Tourism Minister

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prime Minister Philip Davis addressed cabinet ministers Friday afternoon during a swearing-in ceremony at Government House, just days after his administration secured another term in office.

Following the 2026 General Election, every member of Davis’ previous cabinet was re-elected, Except former minister of national security Wayne Munroe.

Ten members of Parliament took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office during Friday’s ceremony, with most returning to their former ministries while also taking on additional responsibilities.

The ceremony drew an overflow crowd of diplomats, family members, supporters, And senior government officials.

Among those sworn in Friday were:

1) Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Michael Darville

2) Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs, Clay Sweeting

3) Minister of Housing and Land Reform, Keith Bell

4) Minister of Energy, Utilities and Aviation, Jobeth Colby-Davis

5) Minister of Labour, Public Service and National Insurance, Pia Glover-Rolle

6) Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Zane Lightbourne.

7) Minister of Youth and Sports, Mario Bowleg (Culture was removed from his portfolio)

8) Minister of Tourism, Glenys Hanna-Martin

During his address, Prime Minister Philip Davis reminded cabinet members that their re-election should not be viewed as a moment of celebration, but as a call to continue delivering for the Bahamian people.

The formalities and festivities are anticipated to continue over the weekend, with additional swearing-in ceremonies scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Government House.
